1.2 Installing ChessDB on a PC running Windows from a binary setup.exe

Installing ChessDB on a Microsoft Windows machine is very easy. First download the setup.exe for the latest release of ChessDB. At the time of writing (28th December 2006), this is version 3.6.4. Run the installation program, which looks like this.

Setting up ChessDB

accept the licence (GNU General Public Licence) and the installer will install ChessDB for you, in much the same way as happens for most Windows programs. Unlike many, there is not even a need for a reboot. That's all there is to installing the software, although it will need to be configured, which is described in section .
